Tom Bright is something of an inspiration it would seem. After experiencing a trauma at birth, a succession of operations followed and as a result of these treatments, his voice was left permanently husky. This is a feature that defines his sound. Born in Berlin, Tom Bright is now based in the UK in pursuit of his passion; music. He has worked hard to push himself and his first ever release, Berlin, came out earlier this month.
Berlin is a pensive and atmospheric track introduced by the delicate patter of cymbals, soon layered with the introduction of Bright’s plucking guitar and the melancholy strings of a cello. Layers that create a path big enough for the rich vocals to stride down as they growl their way through the song.
The likes of Johnny Marr of The Smiths, John Squire of The Stone Roses and Mick Jones of The Clash (who recently filmed Tom performing on his phone) have since signed his guitar in support of his push, and it seems there is now a lot of anticipation in hearing Tom’s first releases. Bursting with potential, it is hard not to envision great success for this brand new artist! You can download Berlin for free here: http://tombrightberlin.viinyl.com/
