SONG OF THE DAY Eighteen Nightmares At The Lux – Dead As A Bone

There’s a lot of chaos coming out of this band and I like it!  Forming in London back in 2011, Eighteen Nightmares At The Lux are a four-piece that have ripped the beating heart out of early Rock’n’Roll and placed its pulsating ‘ticker’ in the body of their new garage punk sound.  Imagine early cramps and fuzzy distortion, rockabilly and surf punk, throw it altogether and you may just get somewhere close to this voluminous mix!

I think it’s fair to say that a very large chunk of what sold this band to me immediately is their very close resemblance to one of my all time favourite bands, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster.  It’s almost like ENATL have picked where they left off, especially given that they formed around about the time that the Eighties Matchbox B-Line split, the question for me is that are they too much alike?

Taken from their 2014 ‘Pig’ EP comes today’s song, ‘Dead As A Bone’, listen above.

Check out their brand new single ‘Asphyxia’ which came out on the 14th of this month via Dissention Records
