In May this year Thee Oh Sees released their latest album, ‘Mutilator Defeated At Last’ which came out via Castle Face Records. This latest offering sees the San Franciscan garage rock outfit veering slightly towards a more funkier rhythmic path with its nine tracks of jangled, psych-driven rock being described as ‘nine muscular tunes primed to pummel to’.
The album has also been described in a press release as “made to be played loudly” and “demands bodily sacrifice,” further adding, “Despite the plutonium heavy feel, Thee Oh Sees continue to be omnivorous. Synths and acoustic guitars wind throughout the album like veins of gold through granite.”
The band’s line up on the new album is John Dwyer, Tim Hellman, Nick Murray, Chris Woodhouse, and Brigid Dawson with Woodhouse also recording and mixing the record.
Today’s song is the fantastic opening track ‘Web’, which instantly kicks in with punctuated beats, psyche-pop jangling guitars and skipping rhythm. Listen above.
