SONG OF THE DAY Damaged Bug – The Mirror

After Thee Oh Sees released their new album ‘Mutilator Defeated At Last’ in May this year (see yesterdays song), front man John Dwyer went on to release another new album under his experimental side project, Damaged Bug.

Less than a month later and via his own label Castle Face Records, Damaged Bug released its second album ‘Cold Hot Plumbs’ which was to follow last years dark and dusky ‘Hubba Bubba’.  Dwyer’s synth-driven new venture is nothing short of a quirky, otherworldly psychedelic adventure of synthesized madness.  It’s an interesting listen, one that will bemuse and bewitch.

Lead single ‘The Mirror’ marches in with its radar-gun sounding synths and stomping rhythm, whilst smooth and contrasting vocals glide loosely across the spacious soundscapes. Listen above.

‘Cold Hot Plumbs’ came out June 1 and can be found here
