‘Mr Face’ was Ty Segall’s first release of this year which saw the Californian psych rock singer-songwriter returning once more to his garage roots and minimal, semi- dirty production style.
With a heavy 60’s influence echoing throughout the four tracks, this EP was initially sold as a gatefold double 7″ single with 3D art cover. Both of the records were pressed on translucent vinyl, one red and one blue and this quirky feature meant that each record could be held up to the eye and used as 3D glasses!
Released via Famous Class records, the first pressing is rather hard to come by now but the EP is well worth checking out. Taken from this release comes today’s song, ‘Drug Mugger’ which you listen to above.
