SONG OF THE DAY Clarence Reid – I Get My Kicks

It’s Friday night and it’s time to get funky!

American songwriter Clarence Reid has been performing since the late 60’s.  His music, which often consisted of sexually explicit versions of hit songs, included original raps also themed around sex and in 1971 he recorded a whole album of dirty songs under his stage name Blowfly.

He later moved to Florida where he started writing songs for artists of the Henry Stone family including Betty Wright, Gwen McCrae, and KC & the Sunshine Band as well as recording many songs of his own in the 60’s and 70’s.

Today’s song was originally released in 1971 but, courtesy of the great  Tramp Records, this rare single was re-relased in June this year and it is now available as a brand spanking new 7″ and digital release which you can find here
