SONG OF THE DAY Wand – Dungeon Dropper

LA-based psych-rock trio Wand have already made two albums in the past eighteen months with the most recent one, ‘1000 Days’, released this week on Sept 25.  Signed by Ty Segall to his own label Drag City imprint, GOD?Records, the trio are fronted by Meatbodies’ Cory Hanson and features Lee Landey on bass and Evan Burrows on drums.

Hovering somewhere between the jingly-jangly, acid-buzzed, soft sounds of the 60’s their sound frequently shifts up a gear straying into the realms of the more chaos-filled garage punk-rock sounds of that era.  An effective contrast which coaxes you into it’s soft, flattering mellow trip before sucking you into a full-blown, kaleidoscopic, musical whirlwind.

Taken from their new album comes their latest single ‘Dungeon Dropper ‘ which, with its heavy lo-fi fuzz-rock sound and heavy bass-driven melody, is a cracking new tune. Listen above.
