SONG OF THE DAY Thee Oh Sees – I Was Denied

I was looking for something to kick-start this post-Christmas lull and suddenly Thee Oh Sees popped into my head and all was well.  Today’s song is the great thirteen and a half-minute track, ‘Warm Slime.’  It’s the first track in their 2010 album of the same name and is the lengthiest song that the band ever released.

The album’s title track gained much attention and when talking about the inspiration behind his especially long song, songwriter and core member John Dwyer described how he had wanted to record a long format song like Can’s ‘Yoo Doo Righ,’ The Doors ‘When The Music’s Over,’ and Iron Butterfly ‘In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.’

Anyway, enough waffle! Enjoy Boxing Day and enjoy this track, it’s very hard not to!
