I’m a bit partial to Yeasayer, in so much that I acquired their debut album ‘All Hour Cymbals’ back in 2007 and really quite liked it, especially the first two tracks! Emerging in 2006 and self-describing their sound as “Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel,” they are definitely an interesting bunch!
Today I discovered that the band are to release a brand new record titled ‘Amen & Goodbye’ which is to appear on April 1 this year via Mute Records. This is their first album since their 2012 Fragrant World and was recorded at Outlier Inn Studio in upstate New York with the help of American drummer and music producer Joey Waronker.
The album art features the fantastically quirky sculptures of creator David Altmejd, all of which come to life in the bands loony new video for today’s song ‘I Am Chemistry.’ This track is taken from the forthcoming album and also features the additional vocals of Suzzy Roche from the Roaches.
Feast your peepers on the barmy video above and keep your eyes out for forthcoming tour dates which are to be announced soon!
