“Night Beats play pure psychedelic R&B music that spikes the punch and drowns your third eye in sonic waves of colour. Theirs is a bastard blues, contorted and distorted into new shapes for 21st century wastoids — once tasted never forgotten. This is music to melt your sorry little minds”.
….and my sorry little mind cannot wait to be melted by the Night Beats latest offering which came out today via Heavenly ; I was out like a shot to get my eager little mitts all over this earlier today!
This is psychedelia at it’s best, heavy doses of mind-bending hazy, crazy garage-nostalgia coupled with hefty measures of heavy blues and r&b, each facet pounding its own imprint into this great wall of sound.
The Nightbeats new record is titled ‘Who Sold My Generation’ and not only features Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s Robert Levon Been, but was co-produced by him too! ‘No Cops’ was the first single from this record and was released No as a 7″ single last Friday featuring a new track, the B-side ‘Vultures.’ Listen above.
….10.31pm…after an extensive listen to ‘Who Sold My Generation’ I can safely say that there isn’t a bad song amongst it..not even an average song…it’s one god damn TOP ALBUM!!!!!! Go out and buy it…NOW!
