This is my first listen to Quilts new album ‘Plaza’ and I’m enjoying it so far…
Releasing their third album just a few days ago the Boston four-piece have once again nailed the art of genre-merging. Their diverse sound criss-crosses the delicate textures of orchestral folk-pop, alternative pop, Americana and psych-rock with golden seams of jazzy undertones woven into the mix; this is one technicoloured quilt you will be more than happy to lose yourself in!
I’m particularly liking the vibe of ‘Hissing My Plea,’ the fusion of vocal interplay adding yet another rich layer, whilst smooth strings slice tuneful psychedelic shapes into this sunshiny sound. Listen above.
