I love this big sound! Big beats, big bleeps, big spacey feel and lots of big big love for this dazzling, cosmic song!
I heard ‘I’m A Cyborg (But That’s Okay)’ on the radio the other day and was immediately grabbed by it’s electronic, robotic clutches! Before I knew what was happening I had been whisked off to a spacey dimension; it was quite nice and I didn’t really want to come back….
Paper Tiger emerged a few years ago when a few music-obsessed teenagers came together in a bedroom in Wolverhampton. Their passion for all things musical fused them together, whilst their collaborative creative ideas were born from their shared love for African funk compilations, Japanese animation, soundsystem culture and apocalyptic space-rap.
In 2013 the band released their debut album ‘Laptop Suntan’ but then disappeared…until now…. The alternative hip hop and Electronica outfit have now returned and are due to release a brand new album this Spring. Ahead of this release Paper Tiger have shared first single ‘I’m A Cyborg (But That’s Okay),’ ( was this title inspired by a South Korean film of the same title I ask myself?)…. Either way, this piece of music is simply ablaze with a giant futuristic sound which I am very much appreciating. Listen above
“We really think we’ve defined (and refined) our sound. This new music is funkier, weirder, and better than anything we’ve done before. Expect this to ‘go off’ in the club, provided your club is on another planet!” – Greg Surmacz (Paper Tiger)
