SONG OF THE DAY Kevin Morby – Black Flowers (Live)

a0667683718_10I’ve been waiting patiently for this day to come for it marks the arrival of Kevin Morby’s latest and third album, ‘Singing Saw,’ which also happens to be his first release on the Dead Oceans label.

The story behind the album goes back to the Autumn of 2014 when Kevin Morby moved to the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Mount Washington.  The previous residents at his new home had left an upright piano behind along with some sheet music and an introductory book of common chords. This instrument inspired many hours of self tuition as Morby was a beginner at piano, but it wasn’t long before his compositions began to take shape and form in what has now become his latest album ‘Singing Saw.’

Today’s song is titled ‘Black Flowers’ and appears on ‘Singing Saw’ which you can purchase from this link here.  Recorded live in Amsterdam on 29th February this song is a beauty, as is the rest of the album, I would definitely recommend .. Listen above.
