SONG OF THE DAY Holy Fuck – Xed Eyes

Holy_Fuck_Press_PhotoI first came upon the music Holy Fuck on an episode of Breaking Bad, the first episode of Season 2 to be precise; ‘They’re Going to Take My Thumbs” was one of many great tracks featuring on the Soundtrack and if you click on the Breaking Bad link above you can check out the song I’m talking about.

Holy Fuck are a Canadian electronic band hailing from Toronto.  They first appeared in 2005 and took the world by storm with their new and innovative sounds.

Using live instrumentation and a horde of random instruments and non-instruments (including toy keyboards and toy phaser guns) to achieve electronic-sounding effects, this creative bunch concoct electronic-sounding effects without having to step anywhere near a laptop or programmed backing track! Their mission was to “create the equivalent of modern electronic music without actually using the techniques – looping, splicing, programming and the like – of that music.”

After a short break in 2010 when the band temporarily went their own separate ways, they are now back and recently announced the release of a brand new album ‘Congrats,’ which is due for release on May 27 via  Innovative Leisure.

‘Xed Eyes’ features on their upcoming album and is a stomping, beat driven, industrial-punk-sounding piece of electronica that’s bound to get your head nodding and feet tapping if nothing else! Listen above.
