SONG OF THE DAY Soluzion – Strength

maxresdefaultWhat a glorious song! Literally five seconds in and I just knew that that this was going to be a good listen, and then the supersonic sounds of ‘Strength’ unfolded!

The magic behind this sound lies within the hands of four very talented musicians going by the name of Soluzion.  Fusing their eclectic musical and cultural backgrounds, the band works together to create the perfect balance of funk, afro-latin, soul and jazz.

Originating from a small town in the Santa Monica mountains called Topanga Canyon, three out of the four members grew up playing music together, with all four members drawing upon various musical influences such as, The Meters, Eric Burdon, Jimi Hendrix, Band of Gypsies, Carlos Santana, James Brown, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, Third World, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Pharoah Sanders, Canned Heat, Fela Kuti, Stevie Wonder, Same Cooke, Nina Simone, Otis Redding, Sly & The Family Stone…to name a few.

Today’s song is titled ‘Strength’ and is part of a two-track release which came out on the 16th of this month via the L.A label, F- Spot Records; it’s as funky as!  With a heavy bass and twangy guitar intro, the swanky beat mingles perfectly with rich vocals, bright brass sections and dynamic percussive rhythms, creating smooth, smooth layers of soulful bliss. Listen above.
