SONG OF THE DAY Holy Bouncer – Hippie Girl Lover

Mm-XuhO3Instantly likeable, psych-tastically authentic and a sure-fire way to blow your socks right off, that was my initial reaction to this song when I heard it for the first time today.

Holy Bouncer are a Barcelona based five-piece with a powerful, roaring, supersonic 60’s influenced, garage rock sound.  To date, Holy Bouncer have released four official tracks and have covered a few old greats including the Rolling Stones, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” and Leadbelly’s “Where Did You Sleep Last Night.”

The thing that really struck me about this band and what I particularly appreciate is that, whilst their sound is inspired by yesteryears, what they’re creating now takes these roots and pushes them forward to a new generation of psychedelia….and anything psychedelic is completely funky in my book..

With a debut album due for release later this year, Holy Bouncer have just released their second and latest single ‘Hippie Girl Lover,’ and in all its slinky glory is a song that has wholly grabbed my attention…this is one band I’ll be keeping my eyes on so definitely watch out for this one!
