SONG OF THE DAY BadBadNotGood – Confessions Pt II (Feat. Colin Stetson)

N6NavZmKI couldn’t resist giving this song a listen today especially when I saw it described as ‘trumpet rock,’ I mean, who wouldn’t be intrigued to hear what a bit of trumpet rock sounded like!

..and rock it really, really does! At just over 6 minutes long, ‘Confessions Pt II (Feat. Colin Stetson)’ is the latest track from the Toronto jazz and hip-hop fusion band BADBADNOTGOOD, and is to feature on their new album due next month.

Well known for their interpretations of hip hop tracks, recent collaborations include artists such as Tyler, The Creator; Earl Sweatshirt;Danny Brown; Frank Ocean; and Ghostface Killah; with their 2011 debut LP a collection of original compositions and covers of songs from artist such as, Flying Lotus, Gang Starr, J Dilla, Joy Division, Nas and Ol’ Di.

For their latest single BadBadNotGood have teamed up with saxophone giant Colin Stetson to bring alive ‘Confessions Pt II (Feat. Colin Stetson),’ and with its array of hypnotic, unfurling and truly stomping jazz-fuelled melodies, this is one track to get lost in.  Listen above.

Latest album ‘IV’ is due on 8th July via Innovative Leisure.  Pre order your copy from BBNG Bandcamp page here
