SONG OF THE DAY Hanni El Khatib – Miracle

1464884433unnamed_6“This was initially intended for a full band with a string section and all, but after we tracked the demo live in the room it just felt right and I didn’t wanna touch it after that. So that’s how we left it.”  Hanni El Khatib

Some of the best things and greatest moments in life occur completely off the cuff and Hanni El Khatib’s latest track ‘Miracle’ is testament to this statement.  Coming just four weeks after his last release, ‘Gonna Die Alone’ comes his brand new counter song all about his miraculous survival,  “It’s a miracle that I came out alive,” he sings, “I know I shoulda been put down in my place, but I survived.”

In all its stripped back glory ‘Miracle’ works so well just the way it is and I’m glad that nothing else got added to this song;  I like its space, simplicity and loose structure, less is definitely more in this case.  Listen above.
