SONG OF THE DAY The Cobra Lamps – Known To All

lll-13-473x375The Listening Post has previously featured the superb garage surf-rock sounds of Nottingham-born Little Barrie, (see my pages here and here) and was extremely delighted to discover that the bands founder and front man, Barrie Codagon has launched his first solo project going by the name of The Cobra Lamps.

The Cobra Lamps are due to release on their debut EP on 29th July via Anton Newcombe’s (of The Brian Jonestown Massacre) label A Recordings, with first shared track ‘Known To All’ due out soon!  With its close and stormy feel, hypnotic sitar melody and loose rhythm, this track oozes psych-fuelled mystery; I’m definitely enjoying the more laid back and slinky feel to The Cobra Lamps!  Listen above.
