Tim Cohen is a San Francisco based musician and visual artist who has turned his hand to many different genres over the years, releasing a diverse collection of albums ranging from Hip-Hop to psychedelic-folk and garage. He performs both as a solo artist and a member of various acts including Sonny and The Sunsets, Hattatak, The Latter and The Forest Fires Collective.
As a solo artist he has released under the name of Feller Quentin, his own name and, more recently, Magic Trick and is now recognised as a leading figure in San Francisco’s independent garage and psych-rock music scene.
Empty Cellar Records are to release his latest and forthcoming album, ‘Other Man’s Blues’ his August and have described how, “this offering from the band finds songwriter, Tim Cohen at a crossroads. It was written and recorded during a year that split his time between two lives, in two worlds. The newer of these worlds was on a horse ranch in the Arizona desert where he and his partner spent their first year with their newborn daughter. The other was the music world. The latter took place on the road, on tour with Magic Trick or with the Fresh & Onlys. And in the case of Other Man’s Blues, it took place for one week at Phil Manley’s Lucky Cat Studios in San Francisco.”
The first single to become available from ‘Other Man’s Blues’ is the haunting, garage-psyche track, ‘More’ which is a swaying ride of gentle melodies, delicate vocal harmonies and an interesting chord progression that gives it a touch of subtle mystery. It’s a captivating listen, check it out above.
‘Other Man’s Blues’ releases on August 26th, pre-order your copy here.
