“Bruxelles ma belle. It’s a break-up song about leaving Brussels. I included tear-jerking violins to make it sound like heartache in its most grotesque form. The girl deserves no less.” – Maarten Devoldere
‘Bruxelles’ saunters into the ears like a gentle Sunday stroll, bobbing along on a mellow beat, accompanied by a tender violin section and a whole lot of heart-break; this is the great new track from Maarten Devoldere, aka Warhaus.
The singer, keyboardist and cofounder of the band Balthazar has recently embarked on a solo project named Warhaus, releasing new track ‘Bruxelles’ which will feature on Warhaus’ new album, ‘We F***ed a Flame Into Being’ (the name inspired by a quote from DH Lawrence’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover). Warhaus has a great gravelly voice I can’t help but think of Mark Lanegan and Isobel Campbell when I listen to ‘Bruxelles,’ listen above.
‘We F***ed a Flame Into Being’ is due on 2/9/16.
