SONG OF THE DAY Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster – Headed South

unnamed-21-578x289Oxford, MS-based Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster (the singer/guitarist for the band Water Liars) is to release his debut solo album ‘Constant Stranger’ next month, and if his first single is anything to go by this will definitely be worth checking out.

Inspired by the natural world this album also reflects upon the more personal matters of family, lovers, a musician’s transient life, and the frequently confounding nature of existence.

Released in June, first single ‘Headed South’ caught my ear with its soothing melody, gentle pace and mellow vocals that rise and fall with tuneful grace and reassuring repetition, I’m really enjoying this.  Listen above.

‘Constant Stranger’ releases on the 30th September via Big Legal Mess/Fat Possum and can be pre-ordered from here.
