<> on July 7, 2012 in New York City.

Indie rock singer-songwriter Alec Ounsworth, aka Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, will be releasing a new album in February.  Titled ‘The Tourist,’ this is to be his fifth full-length album under his Clap Your Hands tag and the follow-up to his 2014 ‘Only Run’ album.

Recorded over the course of a week at Dr Dog’s studio in Philadelphia, The tourist comprises of 10 keyboard-driven and acoustic folk-rock driven tracks which were born out of an emotional past few years and are also said to be a ‘nod’ to Ounsworth’s inspirations which includes artists such as Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Paul Simon.

Ahead of the albums release, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah has shared new track ‘Fireproof,’ a funky, bass-led and rather catchy tune which details the dangers of being “fireproof,” or overly confident.  Listen above.

‘The Tourist’ is due on February 24, until then you can check out some more musical delights on alec Ounsworth’s Soundcloud page here.
