New York soul revivalist Nick Hakim only has to sing a few words and the room fills up with soul, his voice is a dazzling and effortlessness breath of fresh air.
Born in Washington DC, Nick Hakim now resides in New York and is signed to ATO Records ; releasing his first album, Green Twins, only days ago. Prior to his debut, the singer-songwriter has put out a series of singles and a couple of EP’s and, from what I can gather, has been releasing for at least three years!
Hakim’s music floats between genres and moods, incorporating hip hop, R&B and soul into his heady mix, whilst vocally he is smooth and dream-like, possessing a defining richness in his tone that extends into the otherworldly.
