It’s 1984 in David Byrne’s New York apartment and his True Creatures Demos are in the process of being recorded. These sessions featured demos for songs that were later included in their Little Creatures (1985) and True Stories (1986) albums and it wasn’t until many years later that these previously unreleased Talking Heads demos were placed online and shared!
Lady Don’t Mind appeared on Little Creatures as a far more speedy and sprightly song, but the minute I heard the demo, I knew there was no looking back! This version is notably slower which brings out the raw gorgeousness of Byrne’s vocals in all their unpolished glory and I love this track just the way it is in this demo… Check it out above.
