SONG OF THE DAY The Heliocentrics – Wrecking Ball

Best know for their eclectic fusions of hip-hop, funk, jazz, psych, world and electronica, The Heliocentrics have been blessing the ears of many an avid listener with their genre-defying compositions for over 10 years now.  And it’s not just musical genres that their music eludes, for their sound transcends any date and time.

Taken from their 2013 album 13 Degrees of Reality comes the cosmically crafted Wrecking Ball, one of the first tracks released from the album. Built upon heavy lingering beats that are coupled with melodic mind-bending, laser-beam sounds, this intergalactic slice of psych-funk is completely out of this world…in every sense of the word!  Check it out above…and truly indulge yourself with another track from this album which came out alongside Wrecking Ball prior to the records release.

I present the gritty, scuzz-tastic sounds of Mr. Owusu, I Presume.  Listen below..

Heliocentrics 13 Degrees of Reality was released on Now-Again records in  2013, grab yourself a copy here.
