SONG OF THE DAY Marissa Nadler – Save Me A Place

I guess there aren’t many occasions when you can say that you actually prefer a cover to the original, but in this case I am head over heals with this gorgeous rendition and have to say that I do actually like it better than the original!

Marissa Nadler first released her adaptation of Fleetwood Mac’s Save Me A Place in 2014 and has just recently included this on a new record she released yesterday. Featuring a selection of other covers that she has done over the years that haven’t appeared on other compilations this song, according to her Bandcamp page, is just the first of many!

What’s also nice about Marissa’s version is that it steers away from the upbeat folk-rock feel that Fleetwood Mac initially assigned to the track, transforming it into a dreamy, smouldering country-folk ballad.  Check it out above and listen/order Marissa Nadler’s Covers album from here.
