SONG OF THE DAY Spye – Oops, Sorry

Known as Bristol’s ‘legend of hip hop,’ Spye was recently recommended to me, so today I have been happily whiling away my afternoon checking him out!  His rapping is rhythmically pleasing and, coupled with his West Country accent, is individual and unique.

Oops, Sorry was released as single in 2014 and samples Pink Carpet, a track from 1965, credited to German photographer, Charles Wilp!  The tune, graceful and elegant, perfectly contrasts the bouncy tempo of Sype’s tongue twisting vocals and when the beat kicks in, it just polishes off what is a complete gem of a song!  The track was produced by fellow Bristolian artist/producer Majesta and can be found here.  Watch the video above.
