SONG OF THE DAY Damu The Fudgemunk & Raw Poetic – Master Plan

Scratching, sampling and big mighty beats that nearly threw me off my chair! Now that’s the way to open a song!!..and this is the way Damu The Fudgemunk & Raw Poetic’s “Master Plan” worked its magic on me today!!!

Hailing from Philadelphia Jason Moore (aka Raw Poetic) is an MC who, in addition to several collaborations with Damu the Fudgemunk, has recorded six albums, working with an array of other hip hop artists.

Originating from Washington, DC Damu the Fudgemunk (aka Earl Davis) is a producer and DJ who has spent the last decade building a strong reputation performing as a solo artist as well as co-owning and operating Redefinition Records.

Together the duo have just released a new album titled, The Reflecting Sea (Welcome to a New Philosophy) which was also produced entirely by themselves too!  Although known primarily as hip hop acts, the duo set out to explore new realms beyond these parameters for this album, incorporating new elements by introducing jazz, rock, electronic and soul into their mix of live instrumentation, improvisation and sampling.  With the average tempo of over 100 bpm, The Reflecting Sea (Welcome to a New Philosophy) is one of the most energetic releases in Redefinition’s catalogue to date!

Master Plan is vast, bright and spacious with fast, rhythmic vocals that free-flow to the smooth yet swift tempo.  Check it out above and listen/purchase The Reflecting Sea (Welcome to a New Philosophy) (which relased on the 8th of this month) here.
