SONG OF THE DAY Ngozi Family – Happy New Year

Well I don’t know if your New Year was as anti-climatic as mine, but if it wasn’t for music I’d possibly still be climbing my way out of a deep bottle of whiskey! But this is New Years Day and like it or not, new beginnings are celebrated so who am I to get all cynical about this stuff!!

Luckily I’ve discovered this completely delightful and uplifting track aptly titled Happy New Year!  Released by Zambian guitarist, singer/songwriter, Paul Ngozi, this song features as the b-side to his Happy Christmas single. (which is still fetching up to £150!!!).  Paul Ngozi (born Paul Dobson Nyirongo) was a popular Zambian musician in the 70’s and 80’s who first rose to fame as the band leader of the ‘Ngozi Family.’  The band made its as a top local rock group and was one of the first groups to have dubbed its type of music ‘Zamrock!’

Re-issued by the fabulous Now -Again Records this track is a perfect bundle of joy to start the new year so listen, be happy and enjoy!! Here’s to 2018!!

Now-Again are offering a free download of today’s song, grab that here!
