Timmion Records have done it again on the funk front!! As we embark full speed into 2018, the Helsinki, Finland-based label is preparing to release Ernie Hawks debut album, Scorpio Man which is due in the first quarter of 2018! Hawks has been creating music for the past two decades and for his debut album has now teamed up with Helsinki’s soul revivalists and Timmion label founders, The Soul Investigators.
Ahead of the albums released comes a fresh 7″ single that lifts the gritty jazz funk of Scorpio Walk from the album on the A side and pairs it up with the mystic groover Message of Love, a non-LP track only available on this release.
On Ernie Hawks Bandcamp page the write-up has described the song as a ‘manic villain from an art house spy film’ and what a perfect description this instrumental, fuzz bass, surf guitar funkathon!! The Scorpio Walk releases as a single on 19th January and can be pre-ordered from here
