American DJ, producer and solo turntablist Lucas MacFadden, a.k.a Cut Chemist, is due to release his second official studio album this March. Die Cut follows his 2006 debut LP The Audience’s Listening and is to be Cut Chemist’s first ‘artist’ album’ in over a decade.
Featuring appearances by Biz Markie, Deantoni Parks, Tune-Yards, DNTEL, Hymnal and many more, latest single Metalstorm features rappers Edan and Mr. Lif who also appeared in The Audience’s Listening track, Storm.
Metalstorm is driven by a ridiculously catchy, funk-bass riff, cutting beats and a double dose of strikingly sonic rapping, with the bass sample source originating from Vox Populi’s Bala Mala (which is the first track to feature on the 2013 album Cut Chemist Presents Funk Off . Directed by Cut Chemist, Metalstorm’s accompanying video is as visually pleasing as the song itself! Watch it above!
Die Cut is expected to arrive on March 2 and you can pre-order your copy from here.
