SONG OF THE DAY Jackie Hairston – Hijack

Today’s track is just sooo funky, so get ready for some serious groove!

Released on the Atlantic’s subsidiary label Atco Records in 1967, Hijack is a soul-funk instrumental track by jazz pianist, Jackie Hariston.  The interesting thing about this song is that it was written and produced by Otis Redding and appears to be the only single that session musician Jackie Hairston ever released under his name despite numerous appearances with other artists!

This is unfortunate considering just how funky Hijack is!…Check it out above!
