SONG OF THE DAY The Herbaliser – Breach

UK hip hop veterans, The Herbaliser have spent the last 25 years touring and recording, building up a well-deserved and hefty fan base over the years with their diverse blends of hip hop, jazz and funk.

Releasing their appropriately titled new album yesterday, Bring Out the Sound is a release I’ve eagerly awaited! The record  features a carefully chosen group of guest vocalists who joined The Herbaliser in their London studio to record this enticing blend of soulful songs and original instrumental funk breaks; made all the more impressive by its complete absence of sampling!

Opening track Breach is the perfect way to kick-start the album; its big, it’s bold and, with its striking horn section, is very brass-y!  Taking no prisoners this song get straight down to it with funky scratching, monster beats and punchy horns.  It doesn’t entice you in, it slaps you silly with its full-on sound and is the kind of hit that leaves you wanting more!  Check it out above.

Released yesterday on UK’s BBE Music, Bring Out The Sound can be ordered from here
