SONG OF THE DAY Mark Sultan – Be The Blood

Canadian-born Mark Antonio Pepe, a.k.a Mark Sultan has been creating and reinventing glorious garage-rock sounds for many years now.  Also known as BBQ, he has performed under this moniker both as a solo artist and as part of a two-man band, joining forces with King Khan in what is known as ‘The King Khan & BBQ Show.’

For his latest project the garage-punkster has been recording and releasing through Daptone’s subsidiary, Wick Records.  His debut single Let Me Out was released last October and was accompanied by today’s catchy little groove-psych number on the flip-side.  Be The Blood bags some nifty little beats, striding funk bass and fuzz guitar, with Sultan’s vocals a dazzling cherry on this tasty-sweet slice of garage-coated psych.  Listen above and grab a copy of the single from here.
