SONG OF THE DAY Michael Rault – Dream Song

Edmonton-born and now Montreal-based singer-songwriter and producer, Michael Rault has recently announced his new album.  Releasing next month via Daptone’s subsidiary Wick Records, It’s A New Day Tonight was co-produced and recorded by Daptone’s Wayne Gordon at Daptone’s House of Soul in Brooklyn NY and is to be Rault’s debut for the label.  Many of the album’s songs look at nocturnal activities, particularly sleep, as Rault explains, “Sleeping and dreaming were attractive concepts.  I was looking for an escape from a lot of frustrating and dissatisfying conditions in my day-to-day life.”

Today Michael Rault has shared another track from his upcoming record and, true to its name, Dream Song does exactly what it says on the tin!  Offering up a dreamy slice of blissful escapism with its serene melody and fluffy, mellow vocals, this song has the ability to soothingly rock away any stresses, worries and troubles.  Recounting Rault’s retreat into sleep to escape the stress and anxiety of waking life, this is a song that I’m pretty sure we all can relate to and that, for me, is one of its one of its notable charms.

Dream Song follows lead single I‘ll Be There and will be released on It’s a New Day Tonight on 18th May which will (aptly) arrive via Sleepless Records in Canada and Daptone imprint Wick Records in the US.
