SONG OF THE DAY Willie Dixon – Jungle Swing


Willie Dixon’s 1988 Hidden Charms album won a Grammy award for its 9 tracks of blues goodness and with songs such as Jungle Swing featuring on it, is it any wonder?  Eight years prior to this in 1980 Dixon was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in the inaugural session of the Blues Foundation’s ceremony.

Jungle Swing was co-written by Willie Dixon and the soul/r&b songwriter, producer, pianist and singer Leonard Caston Jr and, with Dixon’s low-down deep vocals, its slow beat and chinking piano, is a song that demands nothing but a gentle chair in a darkened room….
