SONG OF THE DAY Blake Mills – It Will All Work Out

Well, here’s another artist who has been kicking about for over a decade and yet today is the first time I’ve heard him!

Blake Mills is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and session musician who’s eclectic guitar playing style has earned him praise from the likes of Eric Clapton and Jackson Browne over the years! He has been a session musician since his teenage years and started releasing music in 2010 when he put today’s song, It’ll All Work Out as his first digital single.

That same year he released his debut album Break Mirrors, a folk-infused record of soul-fuelled Americana.  Since then he has released four more records which brings him up to this years album, Mutable Set.

It’ll All Work Out plays is underpinned by dusty sonic soundscapes that usher winds of quiet yearning and reflection.  It reminds me a bit of Calexico and lyrically sees Mills breaking down his parent’s marriage over a delicately plucked acoustic guitar melody,  Check it out above.
