SONG OF THE DAY The Budos Band – Gun Metal Grey

Ahead of their upcoming sixth studio album, Long In The Tooth, Brooklyn’s electrifying psychedelic afro-soul instrumental funksters, The Budos Band, have released second single, Gun Metal Grey.  The song follows the record’s debut single and title track which, along with the other 10 offerings was impressively recorded in just five days at Diamond Mine Studios in Queens NY.

Long In The Tooth releases via Daptone Records and marks the 15th anniversary of the band’s eponymous 2005 full-length debutFeaturing a mere 8-strong band (sounds double the size!), the record’s line up includes Brian Profilio (drums), Daniel Foder (bass), Tom Brenneck (guitar), Mike Deller (organ), Jared Tankel (saxophone), Andrew Greene (trumpet), Dave Guy (trumpet), and Rob Lombardo (bongos, congas).  The Budos Band’s unfaltering originality has earned them a wealth of loyal followers and their unique sound remains as enticing as ever – these two new tasters demonstrate that perfectly.  Their music has been sampled by the likes of Panic! At The Disco, Black Eyed Peas and Earthgang, to name but a few and notable fans range from Madonna (who loved them so much she invited them to perform at her birthday party), rock god Iggy Pop, and fellow Staten Island musicians, The Wu-Tang Clan.

Long In The Tooth is out on October 9th – Pre-order the album HERE.
