SONG OF THE DAY Ty Segall – In Your Car

Taken from the very fantastic album, Lemons, today’s song will follow you around and nestle in your head, but I don’t mind this lingering in my mind one little bit!!

Lemons was the second album by Ty Segall and was released on Goner Records in 2009 on both CD and LP.  It was also his first album on Goner Records, and his first release to be issued on CD as well as other formats. In fact, the album is a classic for firsts all round, as featured track, Cents, was Segall’s first official music video too!..and was the only video released from the album.

Surfing on its 60’s fuzz-drenched reverbed wave, most tracks don’t make it far over the two minute mark, but there isn’t one song on this record that doesn’t pack a hefty punch and these small bite sized chunks of garage punk goodness are more than enough to satisfy!  In Your Car stomps with menacing glory, lyrics are rhythmic and mean, whilst the guitar howls like something possessed! It’s magic!

Listen above and (be sure) to check out the whole album here if you are not already familiar!!
