Bohemian Vendetta were a US garage rock band active between 1966-1968. Though they only cut one album and a handful of 45’s, their material is still highly regarded by many and their thick fuzz, acid-psych sound still stands strong.
After a series of raw beat demos and a single for United Artists, the Long Island-bred Bohemians got the chance to to record a full LP on the legendary Mainstream label in 1968. This self-titled offering was their only full-length and resulted in 8 original tracks and two interesting covers; these being the Rolling Stones (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction and The Animals House of the Rising Sun!
One review I read described the record by saying that it was “maybe no masterpiece, waiting to change your life or blow your mind, but it is the essence of rock music, and too powerful to miss out on”..… I agree with this statement and wholly concur that this band may have not been ground-breaking or pioneering, but they rocked the sound of the time and captured the raw and gritty splendidness of psychedelia rather nicely… Taken from their only LP, (She Always Gives Me) Pleasure demonstrates this nicely! Check it out above.
