When a song incorporates and samples spoken from a man I am so very very fond of and then mixes it up with a rather inspiriting tune, what you get is a very cool shot of happy dynamite!!! What you get is a this fresh and breezy tune from Traffik Island.
Traffik Island is the side project of singer and guitarist Zak Olsen (ORB, Frowning Clouds, Thibault, Hierophants). He has been releasing as T.I since 2012 and in that time has issued five albums – mainly with Melbourne’s indie label, Flightless.
Today’s tune is a flighty number, aptly titled Go! It features on his Sweat Kollecta’s Peanut Butter Traffik Jam album, which was released at the end of 2020. Though described as ‘psychedelic’ and ‘pop’, the record also boasts some interesting samples and deliciously big beats; I’m still on my first listen, but its an intriguing mix!! Go! samples the magical words of Bob Ross, infusing his wisdom and reassurance with the lines,
When you begin to see thing
Just let it happen’…
Just let it happen’…
Let it happen’…
Let it happen’…
Just let it happen’…
We call those happy accidents
And they can be your best friends
It’s a little delight! Check it out above and if you want to hear the rest of the album, you can find that here. I’ve also included a nice live session below! Enjoy!
