SONG OF THE DAY Last Word – Sleepy Hollow

If it’s a little bit dark, you know I’ll probably like it! Today’s song has a weird and unearthly quality, which you would probably expect from a song entitled Sleepy Hollow.

Moody, intense and of a slightly Them/Van Morrison quality, this track resides in the shadowy fringes of the garage rock spectrum.

Issued on US label, Downey Records in 1966, this was the only 45 put out by US duo, Last Word. Consisting of Berry Abernathy (bassist/songwriter) and Johnny Vasquez (guitarist), their only offering was backed with the very contrasting (and not as great), Jump, Point and Shout .
