As if it wasn’t funky enough that DJ Format & Abdominal released what has become one of my favourite albums of the year so far, the dynamic duo have now shared a remix version of their fantastic Still Hungry LP.
Originally released in April the album was a monster success and topped Bandcamp’s album chart for over two months, also coinciding with a sellout tour. Still Hungry: The Remixes turns this well loved collection of songs on their heads, switching things up and revamping the originals and just when you think things couldn’t get much more appealing, they have also announced the album as a ‘name your price’ so it’s yours for as little or as much as you like!
So, what can we expect from this new album (apart from some very enjoyable artwork)? DJ Format and Abdominal’s Bandcamp page tells all: “Expect basslines, live bands, hip hop hitters and tropical vibes from the likes of DJ Supreme, Featurecast, Danny.wav, Hiphoppotamus, Dutty Moonshine Big Band and plenty more. Heck, even the MC maestro Abdominal himself has reworked the standout track “Dirt” alongside his three piece band The Obliques!”
Dirt was definitely one of the stand-out tracks for me so it goes without saying that this is my choice song of the day! Check it out above and feast your ears on the rest of the album here.
