SONG OF THE DAY Karen O – YO! MY SAINT [feat. Michael Kiwanuka]

Released only three days ago the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Karen O has shared a new song called Yo! My Saint which features the guest vocals of British soul singer Michael Kiwanuka.

The song was created as part of the new Spring/Summer fashion campaign for the French fashion house KENZO and is accompanied by a short film directed by Ana Lily Amirpour (who directed the acclaimed Iranian vampire movie A Girl Walks Home Alone).  The video stars Dirty Beaches’ Alex Zhang Hungtai as a fashion photographer who falls in love with two models (Jessica Henwick and Kiko Mizuhara) all of whom lip-sync to the song’s vocals, expressing through this footage the sensual, intimate and tender chemistry between the unusual duet of Karen O and Michael Kiwanuka.  But fear not if you are like me and a little in the dark when it comes to the world of fashion campaigns, models and stylish directors, all you really need to know is that this is a great song with an authentic old sound that plays out with passion, intensity and drama! It’s a great new piece of work from Karen O and the pairing with Kiwanuka sounds striking and works a treat! Listen above.

Yo! My Saint is out now and can be purchased from here.
