SONG OF THE DAY Lloyd Green – Panic

Today’s song is a dreamy instrumental retreat and quite the Sunday oasis – a place to be for all those with the desire to shut out the world and escape..find me here most days!

Panic was a single released in 1968 on Big A Records by Lloyd Lamar Green – a.k.a Lloyd Green! This castaway serenade was performed on a steel guitar alone and requires nothing else, it’s solitary melody casts out its lonesome howls and off you go…

Lloyd Green was a steel guitarist and dobro player born in Mississippi in 1937.  Probably best known and revered for his session work, he has performed with over 500 artists and has played on 115 number one hits, with over 100 top ten hits!!  He’s played on records with artists such as The Byrds, Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, The Monkees, Jean Stafford, Lynn Anderson, Don Williams, Paul McCartney, Charley Pride, Bob Dylan, Johnny Paycheck, George Hamilton IV and many others…..

Today’s song was what introduced me to this artist and when it randomly popped up in a playlist earlier, I thought it just the ticket for a lazy Sunday! Check it out above.
