Strut records have just released the definitive collection of singles released by Sun Ra across his fantastic career, spanning 1952 to 1991.
Known as the cosmic jazz master, Sun Ra released prolifically during the 1950’s and more sporadically thereafter, primarily on the Saturn label. This latest and extensive collection of 45’s traces the development of Sun Ra’s ‘Space-Bop’ and his unique interpretation on jazz and blues traditions which remain as pioneering now as they were then.
Taken from this monster collection is today’s track, ‘Tell Her To Come Home,’ a smooth jazzy little doo-wop number featuring Little Mack. Listen above.
