SONG OF THE DAY Abdominal and The Obliques – Hot Cross Buns

In need of some serious cheering up tonight I found myself seeking refuge and smiles in Hot Cross Buns, a track from Toronto rapper Andy Bernstein’s, (aka Abdominal) 2012 album, Sitting Music.  Known for his extraordinary breath control and fun raps, this album was an experimental venture for the hip hop artist who sought to incorporate a mix of folk, blues and country into his sound.

“Not to be confused with the delicious breakfast snack of the same name” as lightheartedly outlined on Abdominal’s Bandcamp page, Hot Cross Buns narrates the perils of falling for a self-confessed crazy person and the consequences it brings (get the lyrics here!).  Listen above and (if you haven’t already) check out Sock Hop too!  In fact, just check out the whole album right here!
