SONG OF THE DAY Space Invadas – Wild World Feat. Remi

I heard today’s track for the first time about 20 minutes ago and the more I listen to it, the more I’m loving it! Smouldering sweet-sounding soul, honey-laced vocals and soaring horns..this is the sound of the Space Invadas’ Wild World…..

Australian hip-hop and soul duo, Space Invadas are made up of DJ and producer, Katalyst (Ashley Anderson) and vocalist and producer, Steve Spacek (Steve White).  Releasing their debut album, Soul:Fi in 2010 (which was nominated for a 2010 ARIA award for Best Urban Album), the pair are now preparing to release follow-up album, Wild World.

Due on Friday 13th April via Invada Records and Remote Control Records, the album will be Space Invadas’ first release in over seven years and, although rooted in the world of modern soul, will be introducing many other genres of contemporary music into the mix, especially hip hop.  Featured vocalists include MC’s Guilty Simpson and soul vocalist Natalie Slade, along with Remi who features on the album’s title track and first single, Wild World.  This song is a gorgeous blend of soul and hip hop, contrasted by velvety soul-filled vocals and the smooth rhythmic flow of lyrical rapping as Cat Stevens’ lyrics, “Oh, baby, baby, it’s a wild world,” echos out as the song fades.  It’s smooth, melodic and wonderfully mixed and crafted..Check it out above, watch the accompanying video below and pre-order your copy of Wild World from here.
