True to their namesake LA’s Buttertones are smooth and pliable, equipped with a sound that will lull you into a hazy dream one minute, before propelling you into outer space at the speed of light the next..you just never know what’s coming!

Ahead of their forthcoming album, Midnight In A Moonless Dream (which is due on 4th May), the cinematic-rock 5-piece have recently shared new song, You and Your Knife which follows their previous single Baby C4.

If you were to imagine The Buttertones typical sound as bouncy, popping candy, then prepare yourself for some silky, smooth, luxuriant dark chocolate, because this is what You and Your Knife feels like.  Its sleek delivery offers up a more refined brew of sultry, whispered vocals, sinuous melodies and seductive saxophone and I can’t help but think of Iggy Pop when I listen to this!  The Buttertones are an ever-changing and evolving phenomena whose sound never ceases to impress and if the first two tracks from their new record is anything to go by, I can’t wait to hear the rest!…if today’s song doesn’t lure you in hook line and sinker, I have no idea what will!

A recent press release described The Buttertones’ new album as rougher and tougher than their 2017 LP Gravedigging:“If Gravedigging felt like an oversaturated spaghetti-western desertscape, Midnight is much more biting—music made for the swampland that spit out Australia’s mad Scientists, or for the Mickey Spillane night city where the Cramps met all those garbagemen and werewolves.”
